Hat Day Drama

At least Kaisley is excited about Hat Day Cute Girls !!!
We found something to nibble on !!
Kaisley enjoyed her hat day at Grandma Graces

Today is "Hat Day" in the 3rd grade of the Oakwood Elementary School. Let me just say that hat day should be a relatively easy thing to accomplish. NOT IN THE LEAST !! After a hurried search this morning we finally found Kambrees very favorite beanie. She puts it on and decided that she looks stupid, well we are already running late and we don't have time to look for anything else. Here come the water works. All the way to school she is bawling about how stupid the hat is (remember about 15 minutes prior it was her very favorite) We get to school and she is not going to get out of the van with it on. Well I think that she needs to wear the hat, it's a grade-wide activity and she needs to participate. I tell her I'll just leave her in the van. I go stand over by the school and watch her for about 5 minutes and she is not about to get out on her own, meanwhile I see all of these little third graders go by me with some of the dumbest hats that you have ever seen and they don't even care that they are wearing a dumb hat. Finally I'm just desperate to get us both inside so I go back to the van and just say "Fine don't even wear the hat" She came to me once just to show me that she still wasn't wearing the hat. Then I saw her at lunch and her friends were telling her that she should put it on, then I saw her once more as happy as a lark wearing the hat. UUUUUUGH !!!

My Friend Em

My friend Emily is one of my very favorite people. We met about 5 years ago when our wards became combined. We were put together as visiting teaching partners and fast became friends. We have so many things in common, we are the same age, our husbands are the same age, our kids are close to the same age and she even got married on my birthday (just to name a few). Sadly for me she moved away a few years ago and I have missed her tons. Thanks to blogging we've been able to keep in touch and today we met in Logan for lunch. It was so good to see her and hang out again. We are hopefully going to do this a lot more often. She is one of the sweetest, cutest, and most caring people that you will ever meet. I'm so happy to have her as a friend. Love Ya Em!!!

Shopping Day !

So yesterday I was able to go and enjoy one of my very favorite activites - SHOPPING. To make it even better I was able to go with two of my fav fellow shoppers Sheila and Angie. We had such a fun day. We left at 8 in the morning and got home last night about 11. We went to Draper and hit Target, South Towne Mall, Lunch at Pei Wei, Rod Works, IKEA, and finally our favorite new spot Gardener Village. It is the cutest little place with some awesome little shops. Everything was so cute there that I had to take some pics. It was such a fun get-away. Thanks to Sheila and Angie for enduring to the end and thanks to Chad for watching all of the kids for us and paying for my fun day !!

Willow Flat Camping

I'm sad to report that we may have just gone on our last camping trip of the season. Last weekend we went to Willow Flat. It was suppose to be Our whole Pope Family but sadly not too many were able to make it. There was Chad and I and the kids, Jeff and Sheila's family, Cliff, Lacey, Shay, and Dan. My mom and dad were camping in the campground as well so we were able to hang out with them quite a bit too. The kids had a great time playing together, Kort had a great time harassing Jeff, the weather was awesome, and on Sunday we went for a really nice 4-wheeler ride over to Beaver Mountain. Thanks Jeff and Sheila for all of the time and hard work that went into planning, too bad the turnout couldn't have been a little better. I'm hoping for at least one more trip to the mountains but cold weather is coming fast, so we will just have to see!

Happy Birthday Kort !!

Jeff got ahold of the whip cream and gave Kort a little Birthday surprise Dinner at Big J's
Our cute little neighbor Tanner brought this over with some candy. Kort is the neighboorhood hero to all of the little boys.
Starting the day out with a little Birthday breakfast (we take advantage of any opportunity to eat out).

MMMM Hot Fudge Brownie Sundays
Oh grandma- you're so funny!!! Just one of his many talents
Grandma Grace's bottled raspberries- YUMMY !!
We started birthday celebration on Monday. We took Kort and five friends to a movie in Logan and then to Cold Stone for ice cream. I left my camera with Tanner. Here are some random shots he took at Cold Stone

I think that girl might be checking Kyle out!
Jordan seems to be up to something
Kort and Cade (I believe Bracken might be in the middle)
You really have to concentrate on ice cream this good!

WOW, Kort turned 15 years old today!! That is just so crazy, it seems like just yesterday that I had him. For those of you who don't know the story of his birth it's actually a little comical now. Iwoke up on September 3 1993 about nine and a half months pregnant (OK so I was just 6 days overdue, but at that point in a pregnancy it seems like forever) and went into work. I worked until about 2:00 decided to go to the hospital about 4:00 and by 7:57 that evening had an 8 pound baby boy (with no drugs I might add- hey I earned those bragging rights). I must say that life has never been the same since that day. He was the cutest little blondie and had us laughing all the time. Now he's taller than me, not blonde, but still keeps us laughing (and occasionally crying). Although he's had his moments, we are so blessed to have him in our family. Happy Birthday Kort. We love You!!!

Something New

Kambree started violin lessons last week. She is really excited about it and has been practicing her little heart out. Her teacher is Brett Ward. I hope that she ends up really loving it, we could use some musical talent in our family. I think she looks the part of a musical genius but then I'm a little partial.
