Warm River with the Porters

We are feeling so lucky this Summer. As I have mentioned our family's very favorite Summer destination is Warm River. We were able to go there twice this year. We just got back from another week there, this time with the Porter clan. It was so much fun to watch all of the kids play together. The guys had some pretty good luck with fishing. All in all I think it was a great trip. The only bad part was that because of the soccer camp, Kort wasn't able to join us this time. Things just aren't quite as lively without him. We discovered the Cave Falls which are actually a part of Yellowstone. They are really pretty. We did some crafts, bunco playing, treasure hunting, and just lots of R&R. Thanks to everyone for making it so much fun!!

BYU Soccer Camp

Yesterday Angie and I ventured down to Provo to take Kort and five of his friends to BYU for a 4 day soccer camp. We had quite an adventurous time. We got down there in plenty of time, we even had time to stop by Crispy Creme for some "Hot Ones" We found the Marriott Center without much trouble. We got them in and all registered and then we went to find their dorm (now this is where the adventurous part begins). Of course we weren't able to go up to their rooms with them because after all it is BYU and we are "female". So I told them to go put their stuff away and we would wait for them in the car and then take them to the next location that they were suppose to be at . After a few minutes they all come out except for two (wouldn't you know that one would be my own). We waited and waited, sent one of the other boys back in to find them and they are nowhere to be found. We had to go so we just left and hoped that the creepy guy we saw at Crispy Creme hadn't got them. We drive around and finally found the next location we needed to be at, we tell the remaining boys to go in, do your thing, and come back out. After about 20 minutes it appears that they are not coming back out so Angie goes in to see what's going on. Theres not a boy in the building or anywhere to be found. GREAT- Now we've lost all six of them! We drive back to dorms. Nobodys there. We drive to the practice field. Nobodys there. We start heading back to the building of vanishing boys and we see a whole herd of soccer kids coming our way. We think maybe by some chance they are a part of the group. THERE they are. All six of them, bouncing their new soccer balls, having a good 'ol time, completely oblivious to the fact that they have been lost for the last hour. Boys are just so much fun!! We were relieved to see that they were all alive and well and actually right where they needed to be . We decided to head for home (kinda). Seriously how are two professional shoppers just suppose to bypass the Wasatch front. Yah so we got home about 9 p.m. (we left at 6 a.m.) This could possibly be our new record. Besides a little drama it was a really fun day. Thanks to Sheila for letting me borrow her "bus" and thanks to Angie for the awesome company!!

Fun at Glendale!

A few evenings ago we had a little Porter get together out at Glendale Reservoir. Grandma and Grandpa brought out a great big inlatable island that the kids had a ball on. Austin brought his Dad's boat and that was tons of fun. Our girls loved the boat and wanted to ride in it every chance they got. Kort was able to experience something new. He tried wake boarding for the first time. It took a few tries to get him up but once he got the hang of it he was awesome. I wasn't able to get any pics of his sweet wake boarding skills because right before he got up Chad accidentally took my camera for a little dip in the reservoir. Don't worry it has dried up nicely and is working like a champ. We had so much fun boating, playing in the water, eating a yummy dutch oven dinner and just hanging out. Thanks everyone!!

Girl Power!

We have had so much fun this Summer living in our nice little neighborhood. We didn't really have too many neighbor friends to play with in our old house so it's been great for the kids. These girls play together pretty much every day. Last night Kambree really wanted a Slumber Party but we settled on a "Late Night Party" The girls came over and played some games outside, watched a little bit of a movie, played a little webkinz and did a whole lot of screaming and giggling. They are all such great kids. We are so lucky to live by them!!

Yellowstone

These first two are for Tess!!

During our stay at Warm River, we all packed up and went into Yellowstone for the day. We had a good time exploring all of the hot pools and checking out Old Faithful. Yellowstone is such an amazing place. On our way back we had to stop by the "Boss Hog" looking car and get a few photos.

Warm River

The mosquitos were a little thick. This was Korts solution

Frog Fishing was a big hit with Kaisley -

Don't let Grandma get away
Kaisley's interested in everything Grandpa does
Cole turns into a bat sometimes. Watch out Dill!!
Our family spent about a week at our very favorite camping spot. We were able to have a little Mattson family reunion. Everyone was able to make it except for Kellie and Robins familys. We had a ton of fun floating the river, sight seeing, eating lots of yummy food and just hanging out together. Although we all live fairly close we really aren't able to get together as much as we would like so it was nice just to get to spend some time together. Nothing beats family around a campfire!!
