Redneck Fun

Pretty much the sweetest hit ever !! Derby Girls
Havin' Fun
Gotta see that again. The driver in the tipped car is a GIRL

So last night Chad and I took the kids to the derby. You may or may not know that I have a secret desire to participate in the derby (don't worry I didn't). I have come to the conclusion that this is because I do have some redneck blood in me. It seems like the last few years that we have been I've had a cousin or two in it. This could possibly have been brought on by all of the underage driving that Grandpa Lavar would let us do as kids. my cousin Carter entered this year and he won the second round. Not bad for his first attempt. Well I guess I'll just keep dreaming because Chad said that I am too "Fragile". Yah that's just a nice word for whimp, however, he certainly can't argue the fact that I'm super good at crashing my car into things.

First Days

Heading to PHS !!!OOps closed eyes

Eli, Kambree, and Addie
Kort and Kambree both started new schools on Thursday. It was Kambrees first day at Oakwood Elementary and Korts first day at Preston High. I honestly cant believe that I have a high schooler. I swear that I was just barely there myself. Wow!! Where does the time go? I haven't been too eager for school to start mainly because I had to return as well and we have been having such a fun relaxing summer. Now that we have been back for a few days and are getting into the swing of things I am remembering how nice it is to have routine and the two hours of alone time that I get when Kaisley goes down for a nap and the others aren't home from school yet aren't too bad either.

Olympic Diving Through Kaisleys Eyes

So as we're watching the mens olympic diving team the other night, Kaisley turns to me and says "Mommy, I want to be naked and jump off the teeter totter into the water." Funny Girl !!

Our New Toy

So I was going to title this "Chad's new toy", however today we went on about a 3 hour ride and I have decided that is officially going to be my toy as well. Wow!! I never knew that riding a road bike could be so much fun. I'm a little bummed that we didn't get it earlier in the season. I guess that we'll have to cram a whole lot of riding into the next month or so. I never pictured myself as a biker mama but I'm thinkin' I just might have to go shopping for some leather!!

Bear Lake

On Wednesday a few friends (Janet, Kris, Terri, Emily) and I got together and took all of the kids to Bear Lake. I haven't been to Bear Lake for a long time and had kind of forgotten how fun it is. The day wasn't super warm. It was pretty overcast the whole time that we were there but that didn't really seem to bother anyone at all. Kort and Tanner had a great time just hangin, playing in the water, and trying to harm seagulls. Kambree and Robbie worked for hours on a sand city complete with castles, rivers, and feather flags, and Kaisley was so content to play in the water and sand that we hardly heard a peep out of her. It turned out to be so much fun just relaxing, laughing, and watching the kids that we decided we need to make it a tradition.

Riding to the Top of the World

We had Christmas come early to our house this weekend. We have been looking for a smaller 4-wheeler for the kids so that they can go on rides with us. We found one that was a pretty good deal so we decided to buy it. We went up to Strawberry to try it out Sunday. We rode clear to the top of one of the mountains. You could see all the way over to Bear Lake. The weather was just perfect and it had rained the night before so there wasn't too much dust. On our way back down we stopped for a while to pick huckleberries. It was a great day. We had a lot of fun together as a family.

Kaisleys New Bike

Kaisley has decided that she is just way too big for her little big wheel. She wants to be just like the big kids and have a big bike. Well we still have an old bike of Kambrees but we weren't able to find the training wheels for it. Chad went to King's to buy some new ones. They didn't have any training wheels so he just bought a whole new bike for her. She loves it so much and wants to be on it every second of the day.

Rodeo Weekend

Rodeo Weekend has come and gone. That can only mean one thing - It's almost time for school. Wow! This Summer has gone by so fast. Once rodeo is here that's the sure sign that fun in the sun is on it's way out. Oh well we still have two weeks so we'll try and cram in a little last minute fun I guess. Here are a few pics from the parade and carnival. The kids got completely loaded up on candy at the parade, Kambree was on the big J's train one night and had lots of fun. Kaisley loved the carnival and was highly disappointed that we wouldn't take her on The Ring of Fire.

It was a pretty special day for her because it was also her 8th birthday. Today was another great day as well. She was baptized. We had the priveledge of being there for the special event. She is so sweet and cute. We love her tons!!!
